There is a large imprint area and a small imprint area and you can have either one as top or bottom. Most companies will put their company name on the larger imprint area while reserving the smaller imprint area for a tag line or their city location. Many states have different regulations and they should always be checked before deciding which layout you want. Some states require the state to be displayed clearly, leaving your larger imprint area to be at the bottom and the smaller at the top of your license plate frame.
